About Us
In 1952 Andy Ordner was a dispatcher for the Corpus Christi Fire Department. The Corpus Christi Country Club called and asked if some firemen would serve as valets for an event they were having. Andy recruited a couple friends and began to serve the country club on a regular basis. So began Corpus Christi’s premier valet parking company.
In 1984 as a senior at King High School David Freymiller was given a job as a valet by Andy Ordner. David’s first parking job was a function at the former Tradewinds Ford building in downtown Corpus Christi. He loved the job, working outdoors, and the friendly people. That was the beginning of a great friendship and a 21 year work relationship. Shortly before his death in 2005 Andy sold the business to David and Valet Parking of South Texas, Inc. was born.
From Internet research, Harbor Parking, Inc.appears to be one of the longest running valet services around. In 2008 we worked over 600 events. We are grateful to Corpus Christi, Portland, Rockport, Fulton, Padre Island, and Victoria for keeping us so busy.
In 2008, a number of our employees, who attended college in Corpus Christi, graduated and moved back to their hometown of Houston. We were disappointed to see such good employees leave our company, so we decided the best way to keep their experience and passion for customer service from going to waste was to encourage them to continue working in the valet industry. Rather than lose these employees to another company, we made the decision to open the Houston branch of Valet Parking of South Texas. Along with the a new branch came the name change, Harbor Parking, Inc.
